communications internship

The EcoClipper Communications Internship provides an opportunity to be actively involved in an exciting and modern communications team for a sustainable sail cargo passenger company. As Communications Intern you will be assigned to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO). You will work closely with the communications team to communicate the EcoClipper story, develop your own skills and reach personal goals.
Intern schedule: An intern’s hours are mutually agreed upon by the intern and the CCO. They should be between 8 and 40 hours per week for a period of at least four, and a maximum of fifty weeks.

Working from home: EcoClipper is based in the Netherlands. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most of the EcoClipper team work from home. We conduct meetings through *Zoom, and occasionally Skype, in Central European Time.

Qualifications and interests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional Dutch would be a plus).
  • Knowledge or experience with, or interest in, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and/or other social media platforms.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work from home, attend weekly meetings and work in group projects.
  • Interest in, or a knowledge of, sailing, environmental sustainability and shipping.
  • Willingness to learn about and share stories and news about these subjects.
  • A passion for different communication methods and are willingness to get involved in strategy development.
What will you do?
  • Assist with social media engagement by helping manage social media channels.
  • Draft and edit copy and content for social media channels.
  • Monitor social media web analytics on a weekly basis and provide reports of growth and other activity.
  • • Focus on marketing and crowdfunding. This includes engaging with the team on a regular basis to brainstorm ideas for new and innovative marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Assist with gathering data and writing marketing reports. Work with a variety of marketing and public relations strategies.
  • Research and write blogs on a variety of subjects related to EcoClipper.

  • I• Internships are unpaid. There is a weekly minimum hours’ requirement of 8 hours.

webinar internship

Start: August 2021
End: October 2021

Duration: 9 weeks

The EcoClipper Webinar Internship is an exciting opportunity to practice and develop event planning, marketing and organisational skills for a sustainable sail cargo and passenger travel company. As Webinar Intern, you will be assigned to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and will work closely with them and the communications team. You will help deliver the second Sail Cargo webinar series from start to finish.
Working from home: EcoClipper is based in the Netherlands. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most of the EcoClipper team work from home. We conduct meetings through *Zoom, and occasionally Skype, in Central European Time.
Qualifications and interests
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional Dutch would be a plus).
  • Knowledge or experience with planning and executing online events. This includes: professional communication, marketing (basic understanding of social media, producing adverts for each webinar), using operating programs necessary for webinars.
  • Knowledge of Eventbrite, Zoom and Mailchimp (or similar).
  • A strong attention to detail, good organisational and communication skills.
    Able to work from home.
  • Interested in, or a knowledge of, sailing, environmental sustainability and shipping is a plus.
What will you do?
  • Help organise and run a five-week webinar series (one webinar per week) featuring EcoClipper CEO Jorne Langelaan and a guest.
  • Utilise skills learnt through previous EcoClipper  studies and put them into practice.
  • Develop a marketing and communications strategy for the webinars by working with the EcoClipper Comms team and CCO.
  • Be the point of contact for guest speakers.
  • Ensure the technology of the webinar runs smoothly (this includes understanding online security).
  • Pass questions and feedback to the CCO, and record any technical difficulties.
  • Produce an analysis of the webinar series at the end of the Internship for internal EcoClipper records.
Benefits and Compensation
  • The webinar internship is full-time and will run for 9 weeks. You will have a weekly reimbursement of €100.
  • Informal, educational, entrepreneurial, in a flexible atmosphere.
  • With completion of internship, will receive EcoClipper Internship Certificate detailing role and work undertaken.
  • • Be an integral part of the emerging sail cargo industry. Your experience will stand you in good stead for future employment in this exciting sector.
